FOOD

Dumpster diving (skipping), table diving. Charity and Government outlets.

Buy in bulk. Shop around – make shopping fun hunting for bargains.

DUMP / RECYCLING SHOPS

Councils often have shops at or near dump / tips.

CLOTHING

CHARITY SHOPS (not that cheap). Street markets. Supermarkets.

FREE UMBRELLA’s are to be had by visiting a public amenity or supermarket on a sunny day and often near the entry / exit you will find a rack specifically for umbrella’s. Seeing as it’s a fine day then it’s been a while that someone left their umbrella – they won't be back, fair game. When you're done with it, leave it somewhere similar for others to find ... it's the umbrella-go-round ...

FURNITURE and  BRIC-A-BRAC

Many social media groups focussed on FREE STUFF in any given area.

TECH

Lost-and-found all over the world have 'disposable' things like USB CABLES piling up which no-one will come back for. Ask for the type, colour, length ... you often get what you ask for ...

LIBRARIES – internet, power, some have free coffee !

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Jump trains, find unmonitored entranceways, purchase train tickets for one stop to get on and then another from the stop before your destination. (once again, do the crime prepare to do the time).

Local busses instead of trains.

Rideshare / carshare.

MOBILE LIVING

RAMBLIING IDEAS !

Why do people leave bottles or jars of food unfinished ?

Because the bottom of the bottle is dirty ?

In time the food will get old and dirty, perhaps too old to eat.

Why not get rid of the bottle ?

Perhaps it’s fear of seeing an empty fridge / cupboard … fear of poverty ?

It’s a sign of excessive wealth to throw good things away.

Why would you run a public tap for any amount of time before drinking or filling your bottle ?

Because you think the water in the pipe is contaminated somehow ? How far do you flush it before you think the pure stuff has come through ?

AND HOW ABOUT ... Does your food stand the test ?

Would you eat it cold ?

Beverage drinker – would you drink it the next day if left opened ?

Fatty, sugary foods taste better when hot but just don’t measure up when cold – ever eaten a cold sausage roll ?

The best soft and alcoholic drinks will still be good, full of taste (and bubbles) the next day. Cheap stuff will be undrinkable, why bother in the first place ... Ever tried mass-produced lemonade the ‘next day’ ?
